Some people in this world act in ways that we deem unkind, unjust, unnecessary and down right wrong. It can be infuriating, leading you to a state of anger and sometimes rage. This opens up the rabbit hole of hows. How can this person get away with this? How can this behavior be tolerated? How come they aren’t getting caught or getting their due? How can I make sure they get what’s coming to them? How can I change them? How can I make them see the light? How can we put an end to these injustices? How do we stop the bad guys?
All of these questions are the obvious ones but their answers are all the same. We can’t. We can’t know why this is happening, the universe works in mysterious ways, and we can’t change another person. We can never change the way a person behaves; we can only show them the light and hope they make the right decisions on their own. We may never know why the world gives us these people, or why they behave in such harmful ways so we must focus on what we can do. The only thing we have total control over, the only way to make real change in the world is to be the change. Model the behavior you wish to see. Be the light that draws people in, so that when they are faced with the darkness, they will have somewhere else to go for solace. If a person is being draped in the darkness by another, our reaction is to fight the darkness and try to remove it for them. This takes a lot of energy and time, and to what end? The only real solution is to be the light for that person. To acknowledge that they’ve been thrown in the dark, to agree that the dark behavior is wrong and unjust but instead of fighting it just offset it. Be the counterpart, be the light.
Every time you spread positivity and kindness to another you offset the negativity and comparison sent out into the Universe by someone else. If we want people to change then we must first change ourselves. We must work to meet every situation with love and kindness. The more we do this, the more it spreads like wildfire until one day we can overpower the amount of negative energy.
So next time something triggers you and leads you to the quick answer of anger, think, how is this emotion helping anyone? Usually the answer is, it’s not. It’s not making you feel better, it’s making you more stressed and defeated. It’s not helping that person whose been wronged, your fury doesn’t change their situation. And it certainly will not change the negative behavior of another. Nothing you do can force them to change. You cannot beat bad behavior with rage and aggression, you only aggravate it more. Poking the bear. All we can do is slowly seduce people into the light. Hold steady on your course, be the person others come to when they need to be refueled and reminded of the beauty of the world. Show the negative people how happiness, joy and love flock to those that hold the light. Show them the benefits of this behavior and hope that one day they make the choice to change themselves.
Because we can never change the actions of others but WE CAN always change how we interact with others.
This is your daily reminder to choose the light, choose the love and the positive because our minds will always pull us into the lower vibration thoughts and emotions. These are the first to respond. We must feel the emotions, let them release, not judge them for appearing and BREATHE. From this space we can think clearly and see that the only real, meaningful action we can make is to lead by example. Live a life you are proud of, show people how joyful and fun the world can be and they will surely follow.
